The Texas Farm Bureau Friends of Agriculture Fund (AGFUND), Inc. has endorsed Rep. Jim Pitts in his re-election to Texas House District 10. John Paul Dineen III, Waxahachie farmer and Ellis County President Texas Farm Bureau, said:
“Chairman Pitts has earned the respect of north-central Texas farmers and ranchers. His door has been open and he has not only listened, but also acted on important issues affecting Ellis County agriculture, and property owners, throughout his career. I am proud to support Jim Pitts.
“Representative Pitts has earned the respect of his peers in the legislature and has a record of representing Ellis County with integrity and responsibility. We have the opportunity to keep our representation, and the seniority he has earned, working for Ellis County in the next session of the Texas legislature. Pitts is receiving broad local and statewide support in his re-election campaign, including endorsements from the Waxahachie Firefighters’ Association, Gov. Perry, Attorney General Abbott, Comptroller Combs, Texas Association of Business, Texas Department of Public Safety Officers Association, Texas Alliance for Life, Texas Right to Life, National Rifle Association, Texas State Rifle Association, Texas Association of REALTORS, Ellis-Hill Association of REALTORS, and the Texas State Association of Fire Fighters.
Pitts is a Waxahachie attorney. He also owns the Ellis County Abstract and Title Company, is a director of Citizens National Bank in Waxahachie, and is a Director of Sims Library. Pitts previously served as President of the Waxahachie Chamber of Commerce, President of the board of trustees of Presbyterian Children’s Services, and President of the Waxahachie Independent School District. He and his late wife Evelyn, have three children.
