Today Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott formally endorsed Jim Pitts’ re-election campaign to the Texas House, District 10.
“Jim has been a loyal friend to me and my efforts to protect our fellow Texans, and to combat an overreaching federal government,” General Greg Abbott said.
“General Abbott is an outstanding conservative who has been courageous and unrelenting in his defense of Texas and the Constitution. I am honored to have General Abbott’s endorsement and look forward to continuing our work together to make Texas even better for future generations,” Pitts said.
General Abbott’s endorsement of Jim Pitts’ re-election campaign follows recent endorsements made by Texas Comptroller Susan Combs, the National Rifle Association, and the Texas State Rifle Association.
Pitts has been responsible for the largest spending cuts and largest property tax cut in our state’s history and has worked tirelessly as Appropriations Chairman to successfully pass budgets that lower debt and balance the budget without raising taxes.
In addition to chairing the Appropriations Committee, Pitts serves on the Committee on State Sovereignty and the Joint Committee on Oversight of Higher Ed Governance, Excellence & Transparency. House District 10 is comprised of Ellis County and a portion of Henderson County.
Pitts is a Waxahachie attorney. He also owns the Ellis County Abstract and Title Company, is a director of Citizens National Bank in Waxahachie, and is a Director of Sims Library. Pitts previously served as President of the Waxahachie Chamber of Commerce, President of the board of trustees of Presbyterian Children’s Services, and President of the Waxahachie Independent School District. He and his late wife Evelyn, have three children.
